IFEVA Certification for EV Manufacturers
The IFEVA Certification Program is specially designed for electric vehicle manufacturers and allied industries. Under this program, the IFEVA expert audit team conducts a comprehensive on-site factory audit, and eligible companies are awarded the status of "IFEVA Certified Company."

IFEVA Star Rating for manufacturers
Based on the overall audit performance, manufacturers are awarded an IFEVA Star Rating, reflecting their manufacturing excellence, product quality, compliance level and operational maturity. This star rating helps build trust, credibility, and market recognition for EV manufacturers in India and globally.
Star rating levels
⭐ 1-Star — Basic Compliance Level
Awarded to manufacturers with basic infrastructure, minimum manufacturing capability, and initial compliance with IFEVA requirements. Indicates entry-level compliance with scope for improvement.
⭐⭐ 2-Star — Developing Manufacturer Level
Recognises functional manufacturing processes, basic quality controls, and partial implementation of SOPs. Reflects a developing EV manufacturer on the path to operational maturity.
⭐⭐⭐ 3-Star — Standard Compliance Level
Awarded for structured manufacturing and assembly processes, defined quality assurance and testing systems, and trained manpower with service SOPs. Signifies a reliable, compliant organisation.
⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4-Star — Advanced Manufacturing Excellence Level
Recognises advanced process control, comprehensive testing and validation, strong inventory/service/documentation systems, and high staff competency. Reflects superior operational maturity.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5-Star — Premium & Leadership Level
The highest recognition awarded by IFEVA — world-class infrastructure, best-in-class manufacturing and quality systems, full regulatory compliance, and a strong service network. Signifies an industry leader and benchmark organisation.
Audit scope & evaluation framework
The IFEVA Certification is awarded based on a comprehensive on-site factory audit conducted by the IFEVA Audit & Technical Committee, in accordance with the IFEVA Certification Framework for electric vehicle manufacturers and allied industries. The audit evaluates the manufacturer across company infrastructure, manufacturing process, raw material and supplier management, assembly line operations, testing and quality assurance, product certifications and regulatory compliance, service SOP and after-sales systems, stock and inventory verification, staff competency and training, and product quality standards.
Based on the audit findings and scoring against these parameters, the manufacturer is awarded an IFEVA Star Rating (1⭐ to 5⭐) reflecting its manufacturing capability, quality and compliance maturity, operational excellence, and readiness for the EV market. Higher star ratings indicate advanced systems, superior quality standards, and industry leadership.
Certification validity & conditions
This certification is valid only for the audited manufacturing facility and approved product categories. Certification and star rating are valid for the specified period, subject to periodic review or surveillance audit.
Misuse of the IFEVA Certification mark or star rating may result in suspension or withdrawal of certification. IFEVA reserves the right to revise certification criteria in line with industry and regulatory developments.
